BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Constellation Stage & Screen will once again bring a cult-classic film celebration to downtown on Saturday, Oct. 25, with two interactive screenings of The
This year’s screenings mark a pair of milestones: the 50th anniversary of the 1975 musical comedy horror film and the 20th consecutive year Constellation has hosted Bloomington’s version of the worldwide phenomenon.
Showtimes are set for 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-show at 6:30 and 10:30 p.m., featuring a costume contest, prizes, a “devirginization” ceremony for first-timers, and other festivities. Local drag queen Oriana Perón will return as host.
Perón, a Bloomington native who has built a national following with anime-inspired drag performances, has been featured in Crunchyroll, Anime News Network, and Watermark Magazine. She is known for her high-energy, cosplay-infused shows and her efforts to create safe, engaging spaces for audiences.
The late-night screenings continue Bloomington’s longest-running Rocky Horror tradition, known for its wild audience participation. Attendees often shout lines, throw props, and join in on the music. Constellation will sell $5 prop bags stocked with rice, bells, and other staples of the ritual while supplies last.
Advance tickets are $21 and available online at buskirkchumley.org/events
