(KRON) — The Golden State Valkyries will bring Game 2 of their first-round WNBA playoff series back to the Bay Area when they face the Minnesota Lynx Wednesday at the SAP Center in San Jose.

Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

After suffering a 101-42 on-the-road loss to the Lynx Sunday, the Valkyries and team president Jess Smith joined city leaders Tuesday to raise the team’s flag over San Jose City Hall.

The Valkyries are the first team to make the WNBA playoffs in their inaugural season. Their first home playoff game will at the SAP Center and not their regular home court of Chase Center due to a tennis tournament.

“Every fan in the building will get a Valkyries playoff t-shirt courtesy of Kaiser Permanente — let’s flood the arena in violet and create an unstoppable home court advantage,” said the team in an email to fans.

Valkyries fever is running wild in the Bay Area and throughout the state.

Governor Gavin Newsom wished the team best in a re-shared social media post Tuesday evening, saying “Huge congratulations to the Golden State @Valkyries on making @WNBA history as the first expansion team to reach the playoffs. California is behind you all the way — good luck in Game 2 tomorrow!”
