Unimaginable loss: Pastor names teens, 6-year-old killed in Madera County crash
Pastor Dustin Maddox from North Fresno Church identified the six-year-old as Serenity Valenzuela and the two teens as 17-year-old Jezreel Ochoa-Valle and 15-year-old James Valle.
On Saturday, officers responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash near Road 24 and Avenue 7, west of Ripperdan.
Investigators reported a big rig hauling two trailers was headed westbound on Avenue 7 just as a van, with five occupants, was headed southbound on Road 24, approaching a stop sign. For unknown reasons, CHP said the driver of the van ran the stop sign and entered the road directly into the path of the oncoming big rig.
The 15-year-old and the six-year-old were ejected from the van. It was reported that James died at the scene, where Serenity had major injuries and was transported to Valley Children’s before she was pronounced dead. CHP said that Jezreel succumbed to her injuries and died later that night.
In a GoFundMe that was shared by Maddox, it states that they are heartbroken to share that all three of them died in “a tragic accident.”
“Our world has been shattered by this unimaginable loss,” the GoFundMe states.
It states that they were so full of life, laughter and love. The three brought joy to everyone who knew them.
