More normal temps & some rain on the horizon
Tuesday temperatures: Daytime temperatures over the past several days have been in the mid to upper 90s over most of the ArkLaTex. That likely won’t change much for the next few days. Temperatures on Tuesday will once again begin slightly above normal in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Daytime highs will likely return to the middle 90s. Expect similar temperatures on Wednesday.
More ‘Bonus rain’ will be possible: Futurecast and most models continue to show that most of the area will stay dry through the middle of the week. We will see a chance for some isolated, brief showers on Tuesday. Otherwise, don’t expect to see much rain as we will continue to see a mix of sunshine and clouds. Look for a partly to mostly cloudy sky on Wednesday, with the random shower once again possible.
Long-range outlook: It still appears that some subtle changes in our weather will be coming late this week, this weekend, and early next week. The upper-level ridge that has been keeping us hot and mainly dry will break down. This will allow the chance of rain to increase and temperatures to decrease. Daytime highs will retreat to the upper 80s to the lower 90s. Overnight lows will ease into the upper 60s. The Blend of Models shows amounts in the range of ¼ to ½” over most of the area. Individual models show that rain totals could exceed 1” over the northern half of the area. Stay tuned!
