The incident occurred in a wooded area in the 4100 block of Washington Street in Vicksburg. Police said they responded to the wooded area near the Ameristar Casino around 1:30 p.m. on September 15, 2025.
Police said a white male, who was identified as 35-year-old Cory Zukatis, of Brandon, was found hanging from a tree. According to the Warren County coroner, Zukatis was homeless. His body was transported to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
According to police, the incident is not related to death that was reported at Delta State University on September 15, 2025.
