Ghost gun, extended magazine, drugs seized during Half Moon Bay traffic stop
Deputies with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office stopped a car with expired tags on the 100 block of San Mateo Road around 11:30 p.m. During the traffic stop, deputies learned that the passenger, 33-year-old Scott Campbell Jr. of Chino, was on probation.
Deputies searched Campbell as part of his probation and allegedly found a ghost gun, bullets and drug paraphernalia.
“[Campbell] was found to be in possession of an un-serialized ‘ghost’ gun, an extended magazine, several live rounds of ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, syringes, a glass pipe, gun parts and accessories – all prohibited from being possessed by a convicted felon,” the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
Campbell was arrested and booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility for six felony and two misdemeanor charges. The charges include:
The woman driving the car was ticketed for driving with a suspended license.
