The Baton Rouge Police Department was called a little before 1:30 a.m. to the Raising Cane’s in the 8800 block of Florida Boulevard.

When they arrived, police found Allen asleep at the wheel while her vehicle was running. Officers were able to wake Allen up and found that she had slurred speech.

Authorities said she also smelled like alcohol and asked her to exit her vehicle. She did so and proceeded to lean on the vehicle, BRPD said.

Allen admitted to police that she drank “several alcoholic beverages” before getting behind the wheel, according to the affidavit.

She did not submit to a chemical test or field sobriety tests. Allen did say she had been arrested before for DWI.

BRPD spoke with two witnesses who stated that Allen appeared to be intoxicated while driving in the parking lot.

Police confirmed that Allen was arrested on three other occasions for DWI within the last ten years.

The Baton Rouge woman was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the same day as her arrest.
