Nevada County Museum exhibit featuring local artist Spot Daniels portraits
Prescott native, Spot Daniel, began painting at 66 years old. He was a self-taught artist who transformed common materials, like cardboard, wood scraps, trash cans, and rooftops into canvases.
Depot Museum Director Jamie Simmons said, “This isn’t just an exhibit—it’s a chance to see the world through Spot’s eyes: playful, peculiar, and profoundly human. Mr. Daniel had a unique style that brings out the character of each person.”
The reception is open to the public at the old armory building. The free exhibit will then be available by appointment beginning on September 20. Contact the museum at (870) 330-5821 or TheDepotMuseum@gmail.com for information on scheduling a visit.
The exhibit is presented by the Nevada County Depot Museum, a non-profit organization that preserves and shares regional history. The museum is located in the 1912 Missouri Pacific Depot in downtown Prescott, Arkansas. It is open for tours and programs all year.
