Man shot in hand on NE Portland street drove himself to the hospital

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A man drove himself to the hospital after getting shot in the hand in Northeast Portland, according to police.

The man had been standing near a mechanic’s shop on NE Gertz Road when officials say someone shot him from a nearby hotel.

“He sustained a non-life-threatening injury to the hand and called police as he drove himself to the hospital,” police said. “The man arrived at the ER and officers interviewed him.”

Police said that the suspect and victim are “somewhat known to each other,” however, the suspect has not been located.
