Man arrested after he crashes on interstate while trying to escape deputies
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle of interest ran a red light at Juban and I-12 Friday afternoon, leading to deputies conducting a traffic stop near Satsuma. The Ford Bronco is part of an ongoing investigation into retail theft in the parish and possibly in other jurisdictions.
According to Sheriff Jason Ard, the driver, Jomall Glenn, 33, appeared to comply before changing his mind and taking off back onto I-12. Deputies apprehended Glenn after his car crashed and he tried to flee on foot.
Glenn and a passenger who was in the car were taken to a hospital for minor injuries. Another car was hit during the incident, but no injuries were reported.
Glenn was charged with aggravated obstruction of a highway of commerce, aggravated flight from an officer, resisting/force or violence (minor injuries) and reckless operation of a vehicle. His bond was set at $100,500.
Ard said the passenger won’t be facing any charges.
An investigation is ongoing.
