Fairfield police arrest man who allegedly put gun on baby while fleeing
The Fairfield Police Department responded at 2:05 a.m. to an apartment building in the 800 block of East Tabor Avenue on the report of a disturbance. The reporting party told authorities that a man, later identified as 28-year-old Cristian Rodriguez, had brandished a gun at several people inside an apartment after an argument.
As officers arrived at the apartment complex’s parking lot, Rodriguez ran to another apartment building and entered the stairwell, police said.
Rodriguez was found “standing in front of a woman pushing a baby carriage,” and officers called for him to surrender, Fairfield PD said. After he was detained, “an unloaded firearm was discovered placed on top the baby, while a loaded magazine was found in the man’s pocket.”
The baby and the woman were uninjured in the incident, according to authorities.
Rodriguez was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for making criminal threats, carrying a concealed weapon, and child endangerment.
