PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is investigating after a man was carjacked near the University of Maryland campus Saturday.

PGPD notified the University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD) of an off-campus carjacking that occurred between 3:30 and 4 p.m. in the 6800 block of Dartmouth Avenue.

There, the victim said he was completing a rideshare trip with three passengers when two of the passengers pulled out handguns, demanding the victim’s car, to which he complied.

Police say the three suspects drove off in an unknown direction; however, the car was later found by PGPD.

The incident remains under investigation, and police are working to identify the three suspects involved.
