Ichabods fall to 1-2 on the season after 41-27 loss to Colorado School of Mines

GOLDEN, Co (KSNT) – Washburn football falls to 1-2 (0-1) on the season after a 41-27 loss to the Colorado School of the Mines on Saturday night.

Tonight was Washburn’s first road game of the season, looking to bounce back from last week’s loss to conference foe Northwest Missouri State.

It was a tough first quarter for the ‘Bods, only having possession for 2:55. The Orediggers would strike first, making it 7-0 at the end of the first.

In the second, quarterback Justin Lewis gets an 18-yard pass to Henry Mohrmann to get the ‘Bods on the board. It was 27-7 Orediggers at the half.

Washburn struck early in the third, with a 29 reception from D.J. Bell to make it 27-13.

Several lightning delays would strike during the fourth quarter, where the Ichabods would score twice and the Orediggers once.

Washburn is back on the road next weekend for its second conference game of the season, at the University of Central Oklahoma.
