Early morning crashes leave two women critically injured in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two drivers were critically injured in two early morning crashes in Rockford on Sunday morning, according to police.

The first occurred around 2:42 a.m. Rockford Police said a woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a single-car crash at the traffic circle at Kishwaukee Street and Airport Road.

The second happened at 4:06 a.m. in the 1900 residential block of Oregon Avenue, in the Rolling Green neighborhood. Police said a woman was severely injured in the single-vehicle crash.

In each incident, police advised motorists to avoid the areas while investigators worked to clear the scene.
