ORGINAL STORY: OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) — Three people died following a fire that broke out at the Fat Belly’s Diner in Opelousas, firefighters said.
According to fire officials, they responded to a call around 2:20 a.m. this morning about smoke coming from the restaurant located at 317 E Jefferson St.
Fire crews initiated a search and reported three lives were lost in the fire, officials said.
