BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — September 12, 2025

A new business for music lovers has opened its doors inside College Mall.

Things With Strings and More, located at 2894 E. 3rd St., will celebrate its grand opening with live performances and special deals for the community on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The shop offers a wide range of instruments, including acoustic and electric guitars, banjos, mandolins, violins, keyboards and drum kits. Shoppers will also find dulcimers, kalimbas, ocarinas, kazoos and harmonicas, along with amplifiers, pedals, strings and accessories. Brands in stock include Seagull, Orangewood, Alvarez, Nashville Guitar Works, Cort, PDP, Dixon, Casio, Suzuki and Oxford. The store is also a dealer for D’Addario, SIT, Ernie Ball and GHS strings.

In addition to retail sales, Things With Strings offers luthier services and private lessons in guitar, piano and violin, with weekend availability at $50 per hour.

To build community, the store is hosting free jam sessions every other Thursday at 6:30 p.m., welcoming musicians of all ages and skill levels.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The grand opening announcement reads:
“Come check out our musical oasis located right in the College Mall next to Foot Locker! We will be having some crazy good deals and giving away free guitar strings and straps with any purchase of a guitar. Everyone gets two free guitar picks just for stopping by! We will be having live music throughout the day, come and join us for a great time! Enter in our free raffle for a guitar that will be given away at the end of the day! Surprise visits from local celebrities!”
