Man sentenced after nearly killing baby, sexually abusing child in Tulare, DA says

TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KPGE) – A Tulare man was sentenced Friday and could be spending his life in prison after nearly killing a baby and sexually abusing another child, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.

The court sentenced 39-year-old Kenneth Robertson on Friday.

Oct. 27, 2023, a bruised infant was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors said bruising was likely caused by trauma consistent with hitting or squeezing.

The DA’s office said that the infant had to receive emergency surgery for brain bleeding, but survived.

According to the DA, during the investigation, it was determined that Robertson had violently shaken the child and threatened to kill a witness, who was a minor.
