In a post made shortly after 4:30 p.m., the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said the single-vehicle crash happened at Fairfax County Parkway and Oak Hill. From there, the motorcycle rider — a man — was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Northbound traffic on Fairfax County Parkway was diverted onto Ox Road as officers continued to investigate, FCPD noted.
In an update made at 5:15 p.m., FCPD said the rider’s injuries were no longer life-threatening, but he is remaining at the hospital.
Drivers in the area were encouraged to find an alternate route.
