Heavy traffic expected for Boots in the Park in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – What’s being billed as “Fresno’s biggest party” with Blake Shelton and Mr. Worldwide, aka Pitbull, is happening this weekend. The event means heavy traffic is expected near Fresno’s Woodward Park.

The city posted on Thursday night on what to expect for this year’s Boots in the Park. Heavy traffic and delays are expected.

Blake Shelton is set to take to the Boots in the Park stage on Saturday, Sept. 13. Pitbull will take the stage on Sunday, Sept. 14. On both days, doors will open at 1 p.m.

The city said it strongly encourages carpooling or using rideshare apps. The rideshare drop-off will be on Audubon Drive. The entrance to the rideshare pick-up will be on Fraint Road and Fresno Street.

The city also revealed that FAX Route 1 will be taking people to the Woodward Station at Fraint Road and Fresno Street for

. The last bus will depart at approximately 11:15 p.m.

According to the city, parking will be enforced and will cost per vehicle. There will be two ways to pay for parking: one with the ParkMobile App or at a kiosk in Woodward Park.
