ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after confronting someone in a business on Thursday.

The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) said officers were called to a store in the 3500 block of Wilson Boulevard just before 7 p.m. There, they learned a man had entered the business and gone behind the counter, collecting merchandise.

That’s when an employee reportedly confronted the man, and the two got into a fight.

The suspect then pulled out a knife and struck the employee, causing several lacerations, according to police.

The suspect then fled the scene.

First responders took the employee to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Despite searching the area, ACPD said officers were not able to find the suspect.

He was described as a man with long dreadlocks, about six feet tall and was wearing a black hoodie, gray pants and white and black shoes.
