Body discovered in Janesville bike trail tunnel

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — Janesville Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body in a bike trail tunnel on Saturday morning.

According to police, the deceased was found on the Ice Age Trail bike path tunnel, which runs under Highway 14 near N. Wuthering Hills Drive.

Authorities were called to the scene at 7:31 a.m.

Police said the death occurred under “non-criminal circumstances,” but did not elaborate.

A portion of the trail was closed for 2 and a half hours while investigators worked the scene.

Authorities did not release information regarding the deceased individual.
