A library card gives patrons access to more than just books. Members can check out eBooks and audio books, use free Wi-Fi, stream popular TV shows and movies, access online resources, and participate in programs for all ages.
This year’s theme, “One Card, Endless Possibilities,” emphasizes that libraries are for everyone, regardless of age or background. Whether searching for a new read, helping a child succeed in school, or staying connected, it all starts with a library card.
Baxter County residents can sign up for a card at no charge by presenting a valid driver’s license with a Baxter County address or a piece of mail showing proof of residence. Non-residents may obtain an annual card for $30, which covers two adults and any minor children living in the same household.
Throughout September, the library is running a special stamp card promotion. Patrons will receive a stamp each time they check out materials. Cards with at least three stamps submitted by Oct. 4 will be entered for a chance to win prizes. Additional cards can be filled for extra entries. Prizes will be displayed at the library and featured on its social media pages.
For more information or to sign up, visit the Baxter County Library or go online at www.BaxLib.org.
