10 billionaires with Arkansas ties listed in 2025 Forbes ‘Richest People in America’

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A newly released list from Forbes ranked the richest Americans, and yes, there are plenty of Waltons.

Among the 400 richest Americans listed are 10 with ties to Arkansas.

It’s no surprise that the majority of those on the list with Arkansas ties have the last name “Walton.”

The Waltons were named the richest family in America last year by Forbes and Business Insider.

In April, Walmart co-founder Sam Walton’s three living children, Rob, Jim and Alice, were worth a combined $320 million. The three are worth $339 million as of Forbes’ latest rankings and are considered “superbillionaires.”

Alice Walton became the richest woman in the world in September 2024 after surpassing French L’Oreal heiress Francoise Bettencourt. She has been ranked the richest woman in America nine of the last ten years, according to Forbes.

Earlier this year, she welcomed the inaugural class of 48 four-year students to her new Alice L. Walton School of Medicine in Bentonville. Alice Walton was the chair of the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas, which she founded in 2006 and opened in 2011.

Other notable billionaires with Arkansas ties include Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, Ann Walton Kroenke’s husband Stanley Kroenke and J.B. Hunt’s widow Johnelle Hunt.

Elon Musk is the richest person in America with an estimated net worth of $428 billion.
