Woman arrested after being in possession of 28 pounds of marijuana

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) says it has a woman in custody who allegedly possessed more than 28 pounds of marijuana.

According to the MCSO, during a recent crime suppression in Muscogee County, 44-year-old Brandon Shyanne Zachary was pulled over during a traffic stop. Deputies discovered and seized 28.25 pounds of marijuana (estimated street value $128,139).

Zachary was taken into custody and charged with felony trafficking marijuana and following too close.

The sheriff’s office says this operation was in partnership with the Special Operations Unit, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Collaborative Intelligence Group (CIG).
