Man shot while driving on West Side overnight

CHICAGO — A man was hospitalized after officers say he was shot while driving on the West Side early Thursday morning.

According to police, the shooting unfolded around 1 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Ogden Avenue in North Lawndale.

Officers said the victim, a 39-year-old man, was driving in his car when he heard a gunshot and began to feel pain.

Offices said the victim then realized he had suffered a gunshot wound to his knee.

The victim pulled over and called 911. He was then taken to the hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the gunfire and officers say no arrests have been made.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
