A grand jury in Dakota County has indicted a man accused of fatally shooting his roommate earlier this year.
Jacob John Audie, 36, was indicted on one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of second-degree intentional murder for the death of 72-year-old Michael Maurice Schille.

Court documents show that on April 11, Audie called 911 to report that he shot Schille inside their South St. Paul apartment.
Officers found Schille on a coach with a gunshot wound on the left side of his face, and he was later pronounced dead.
An AR-style rifle, multiple rifle magazines and an empty casing were found throughout the apartment by authorities.
Officials say that Audie was taken into custody and told officers he was Schille’s caretaker and that they lived together for the past year or two.
Audie said he used Schille’s rifle in the shooting, according to court records.
If convicted, Audie faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
He is currently in Dakota County Jail, and his next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 16.
