Drug bust leads to conviction of Belvidere resident

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — A Belvidere man, Shawn Hartman, 48, was found guilty Friday of selling cocaine and methamphetamine out of his Fremont Street home.

According to the Boone County State’s Attorney’s Office, authorities executed a search warrant at Hartman’s home on June 6th, 2024 and found large amounts of cocaine, methamphetamine, and evidence that he was selling the drugs.

The arrest was carried out by the Stateline Area Narcotics Team.

In court on Friday, Hartman was found guilty of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

He faces up to 40 years in prison at his sentencing hearing, set for November 14th, 2025.
