Chicago police said the shooting happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of West Monroe Street in the city’s Austin neighborhood.
A 32-year-old man was outside when an unknown suspect got out of a light-colored sedan and fired shots at his direction, hitting him in the upper body, according to investigators.
Police said the man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he died.
No arrests have been made and area detectives are investigating.
