Bojangles Plans Big Move Into New Jersey With 35 New Spots

The Southern chicken chain Bojangles will add 35 spots across New Jersey in the next decade. This marks their first major push into the Northeast since the 1980s.

A new spot just opened at Centennial Square in Piscataway. ADS Restaurant Group runs this location and will open 10 more in Central Jersey. Their quick-service spots will bring Southern cooking to more New Jersey towns.

“I’m thrilled to bring Bojangles to the Piscataway community and share our bold, Southern flavors with local residents,” said ADS operator Sanjay Patel in a statement per Jersey Digs.com. “We look forward to serving the community with our delicious chicken, biscuits, and tea, and we’re eager to create new job opportunities in the area.”

After forty years away, the chain picked New Jersey for its return to the Northeast. They see strong demand for Southern food in this market.

“It’s a monumental moment, now that we’re entering the New York Metropolitan area again,” said Bojangles CEO Jose Armario in a news release. “The East Coast is craving the authentic, Southern charm that Bojangles delivers, and we’re excited to introduce locals to something new.”

The team at ADS brings solid know-how to this project. They already run more than 110 Burger King spots through their Devs Foods and Parade Management units.

Armario praised the teams chosen for this growth push. “The franchise groups behind this expansion are the exact partners we want to grow with — they bring the industry know-how, operational experience and leadership needed to grow Bojangles in a bustling market,” he said.

New spots will start popping up in 2026. More will follow over nine years as the chain spreads across the state. The company will share exact locations once plans are set.
