Mayor Calloway stated, “Make sure to tell everybody that wants to come out it costs nothing to get in… It looks like it’s going to be a good one.”  The fifth annual Founder’s Day Festival will take place at Baileyton Town Park, 600 Fire Station Road, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Parkside School Principal Caleb Elrod addressed the council with his “State of the Panthers” address. Elrod shared his excitement about several achievements that the school has attained. Among those achievements, Elrod shared that Parkside was awarded a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Be Healthy School Grant. Parkside intends to use the money to build a pickleball court that will benefit both students and the community.

Elrod stated, “Not only will it be available to the students during the school day, but also for the community of Baileyton to use in the evenings and on the weekends.”
