A 14-year-old was arrested on Thursday after authorities say he threatened to shoot up a school in Nevis, according to the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office.
Nevis Public School called dispatch on Wednesday, reporting that a student had threatened to bring a gun to school. When authorities got to the school, administrators said they learned the boy had threatened to shoot up the school, shoot another student, and then shoot himself, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Both authorities and school administration interviewed students who witnessed the threat.
Deputies then went to the boy’s home, where they say he confessed to making the threat.
The 14-year-old was arrested for making terroristic threats and was brought to the juvenile center in Bemidji, where he remains in custody.
