The unidentified suspect, 17, was arrested in Bunkie on Tuesday and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
The 2021 black Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen Aug. 15 from the Ville Platte Walmart parking lot on East LaSalle Street. The vehicle was recovered Aug. 18 in a ditch off Cotton Festival Road. There was damage to the vehicle, and items were also stolen from inside the vehicle, authorities said.
A warrant was issued for a 17-year old male suspect whose name is not being provided at this time. His bond is set at $50,000.
