Store owners Hukam and Chandni Sharma also got an $81,000 bonus check for selling the winning ticket. It’s the store’s first jackpot win.
“It’s something I never expected because nothing like this happens here,” said Chandni Sharma. “Our community is so excited for us.”
Sharma said the couple plans to put the money toward their business by adding a long-requested kitchen and deli to the store.
Oregon Lottery Director Mike Wells said he is glad the business is choosing to invest in its future, adding, “The impact of a bonus like this can really have a ripple effect in the community.”
