The Fire Chief Chris Kaufmann emphasized the importance of first responders, then and now.
“We just want to do our part in Slidell, Louisiana, St. Tammany Parish, to tell everyone that is in uniform, ‘We’re not forgetting, and we will never forget,'” Kaufman said. “This changed our lives, and we want our public to know that on every front, you got uniformed personnel that is there to protect and serve you in case you ever get put into any kind of tragedy or disaster.”
The memorial was held at Heritage Park.
