Gmail is launching a tab for all your Amazon purchases
Gmail is trying to make it easier to track your online orders with a new Purchases tab coming to mobile and the web. When you click on the tab, you’ll only see emails related to your purchases, including order confirmations and shipping estimates.
This new tab builds on Gmail’s existing package-tracking features on mobile, which show packages expected to arrive within the next 24 hours at the top of your inbox. Gmail also places order tracking cards at the top of emails with at-a-glance information about your purchase.
Along with this new tab, Gmail will start flagging timely deals within its Promotions category and roll out a new filter that lets you sort emails by the “most relevant” ones. Google says this filter will surface updates based on brands “you engage with the most,” but it notes that you can switch back to viewing your “most recent” emails at any time.
The update to the Promotions tab will roll out in the “coming weeks” on mobile to users with personal Gmail accounts.
