The water district states that the notice will now be in effect for customers located from the intersection of Scarborough Drive and Beech Island Avenue to the intersection of Beech Island Avenue and Pine Log Road, including all customers in between, to include customers on Strom Branch Road from Lanier Road to the bridge, all of Wise Drive and/or if you experience low or no water pressure.
According to the water district, there has been no confirmed contamination of the system; however, due to the loss of pressure, the potential for contamination exists, and as a precautionary measure, customers in the listed affected areas are advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute before drinking or cooking until notified otherwise.
They also advise that any ice made from the water that has not been boiled should not be used.
If you have any questions concerning this notice, contact the Beech Island Water District during office hours at 803-827-1004.
