LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) — Barbe High School in Lake Charles is currently on lockdown, authorities said.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Deputies are on scene following an anonymous call made to the school. The caller advised there was a student armed with a weapon on campus.
The school has been placed on a precautionary lockdown while deputies conduct a thorough safety check of the campus. The primary clearing of the school is currently nearing completion.
At this time, W. McNeese Street in front of the school is closed.
