BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Former students and colleagues will come together this fall to celebrate the life and legacy of Janis Stockhouse, a longtime Bloomington High School North band director who inspired generations of young musicians.
The Janis Stockhouse Tribute Concert is set for Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Bloomington High School North Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Alumni from Stockhouse’s program — spanning multiple decades and traveling from across the country — will perform symphonic and jazz band selections in her honor. Organizers say the evening will highlight both her deep love of music and her enduring influence as an educator and mentor.
Stockhouse, who passed away earlier this year, was remembered by many former students for her dedication, encouragement and ability to inspire passion for music that lasted well beyond the classroom.
