AUSTIN (KXAN) — The “trash panda” is at it again in Cedar Park, after the police department said it responded to its third raccoon rescue this week. This is also the sixth racoon rescue in the past month.
“Our Animal Control Officers want to remind you that this time of year, juveniles are out exploring and dumpsters look like an all-you-can-eat buffet,” the Cedar Park Police Department said on social media.

Police said the problem is that the raccoons climb in but don’t always climb out of the dumpsters.
“Do us (and them) a favor: keep those dumpster lids closed and locked if you can. A secure dumpster = fewer raccoons stuck, fewer rescues needed, and happier trash pandas living their best wild lives,” police said.
