CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A survey with over 3,000 respondents says Charlotte-based Krispy Kreme Doughnuts is the most loved homegrown brand by North Carolinians.

The survey performed by MarketBeat.com, a financial media company, asked NC residents to name the products that make them “beam with state pride.”

#1: Krispy Kreme (Charlotte)

The iconic glazed doughnuts have people running when the “Hot Now” sign is on. Originally based in Winston-Salem, the company moved its headquarters to Charlotte in 2017.

#2: Burt’s Bees (Durham)

Natural personal care products that came from a North Carolina beekeeper’s hobby and later became a worldwide brand.

#3: Mt. Olive Pickles (Mount Olive)

Truly a North Carolina staple. Mt. Olive Pickles remains the largest privately held pickle company in the U.S.

Wines are produced from grapes grown on the famous Biltmore Estate. The winery offers tastings of over 20 handcrafted reds, whites and rosés.

#5: Texas Pete Hot Sauce (Winston-Salem)

Don’t be fooled by the name; this hot sauce is North Carolina through and through since the 1920s.
