Fire crews work to put out heavy smoke at used car dealership on 11th Street

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WTVO) — Blackhawk and New Milford fire crews worked through the night to control a large fire at a used car dealership in Rockford.

Fire officials were called to 6607 11th Street for reports of heavy flames coming out of the building.

Blackhawk/New Milford Fire Chief Scott Schaben told Eyewitness News that crews received the call around 10:26pm Tuesday night and were able to control it within an hour.

As of 3:00am Wednesday morning, fire officials, police and an investigator were still on-scene.

No injuries have been reported so far. This is an active investigation.
