Dooley announced businessman Don Leebern III as campaign chairman after Gov. Brian Kemp endorsed Dooley on Aug. 30, as Kemp believes an outsider without congressional experience can best critique Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff’s record.
“Derek Dooley is the only political outsider in this race and the only candidate who can defeat Jon Ossoff next November,” said Leebern.
He added, “I’ve known Derek and his family for many years–Derek is a fighter, a strong leader, and someone who I know will always put the people of Georgia first. I’m proud to join his campaign, and look forward to supporting his mission to win this crucial seat back for our state.”
“Don is a successful businessman and widely respected leader in our state, and I’m deeply honored to have his leadership and strong support,” Dooley said. “Our campaign continues to gain momentum as we earn the support of hardworking Georgians all across this state and build the team that will defeat Jon Ossoff next November.”
According to Dooley’s office, Leebern is president and CEO of Georgia Crown, Alabama Crown, and Tennessee Crown Distributing companies and has been in the beverage industry for over 40 years.

Leebern has also been active in Georgia and national Republican politics for decades, which includes supporting the campaigns of President Trump, Gov. Brian Kemp and the Republican National Committee.
WRBL News 3’s Chuck Williams recently sat down with Dooley for his Sunday Conversation, where the former college and NFL coach laid out his plan for Georgia as he steps into a different arena.
In the wide-ranging interview, Dooley talks about President Trump and his leadership, his conversation with U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, and the road he hopes to take to the Senate.
