BROUSSARD, La. (
KLFY) — The City of Broussard, in partnership with
Acadiana Workforce Solutions and the
Louisiana Workforce Commission, is hosting emergency employment service sessions for displaced employees from
SafeSource Direct.
“We appreciate the strong cooperation from Acadiana Workforce Solutions to provide job
placement assistance for SafeSource Direct employees,” said Broussard Mayor Ray Bourque. “These highly skilled workers are part of Broussard’s thriving workforce family, and they
deserve our help during this challenging time.”
The city is providing the Broussard Event Center as a venue for the Louisiana Workforce Commission to operate its emergency employment service sessions.
The sessions began today and will run through Thursday, Sept. 18. Employees can attend in person or online. Employees are asked to register in advance.
“We’ve been in contact with Acadiana Workforce Solutions, Louisiana Workforce Commission,
Lafayette Economic Development Authority and One Acadiana since receiving word from the
company that they were planning layoffs,” said Bourque. “We will continue to do everything we
can to minimize any negative impact on the employees and their families and maximize our
collective resources to efficiently organize their rapid reemployment.”
