The Brooklyn Park Police Department said they are trying to locate a juvenile who fled a high school on Wednesday during an investigation.
Police said the investigation was taking place at Park Center High School around 10:45 a.m. by the school’s resource officers. While the investigation was ongoing, police said a juvenile male fled as officers approached him and left the school.
The high school, in turn, entered into a “secure position,” locking the exterior doors.
Officers set up a perimeter near the school and even used a drone and a K-9 to search for the juvenile, but police said they had not found him as of 12:01 p.m.
Police stated that all staff and students are safe and have not been harmed; the school’s resource officers will remain on site at the building.
At this time, the purpose of the resource officer’s initial investigation has not been disclosed to the public.
An investigation to find the juvenile is ongoing.
