Baxter County Fair opens Tuesday with exhibits, livestock arrivals and carnival fun

The Baxter County Fair kicks off Tuesday with a full afternoon and evening of activities as the weeklong celebration gets underway at the Baxter County Fairgrounds.
From 2 to 6, exhibitors will check in entries in home economics, art, photography, baked goods and horticulture. Later in the day, livestock entries, including cattle, swine, goats and lambs will be accepted from 4 to 9.

The midway will come to life beginning at 5 when the carnival opens for the evening. Rides and games will be available until 9:30, and fairgoers will enjoy free gate admission all night.

The fair continues through the week with community events, livestock shows, live music and special theme days such as Senior Citizen and Veterans Day and Kids Day.
