By rssfeeds-admin WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A Maryland man died in the hospital after he was shot in D.C. in broad daylight on Sunday.
Just after 3 p.m. on Sept. 7, D.C. police officers were called to the 2600 block of Birney Place in Southeast for a shooting.
There, first responders located a 20-year-old man who had been shot, unconscious and not breathing.
Medics took the man to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was identified as Najii Mercer, of Oxon Hill, Md.
As of Monday, no arrests have been made in connection with the deadly shooting.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
