This new exhibit broke ground back in July, and it’s set to open in June next year. The bricks are not only a great souvenir, but a way to contribute, even if it’s just a small one like this.
“We really want to be able to include as many people in the community that wants to ,that wants to support us,” Cynrhia McCarvel, Strategic Partnerships director at the Topeka Zoo, said. “And so in order to do that, we’ve got our brick campaign going on. So it’s paved the way for tigers. And our community can actually purchase two different sizes of bricks.”
There will be 1,056 total bricks that will be carefully arranged to create a cohesive entrance to the tiger and vulture habitats. Each brick can be engraved with your name, the name of a loved one, or an inspiring message.
You can buy a 4×8 or an 8×8 brick. A 4×8 brick is $100 and an 8×8 brick is $250. The bricks are available for purchase on the Topeka Zoo website.
