President Trump urges Hamas to accept cease-fire terms

(NEXSTAR) – President Donald Trump issued his “last warning” to Hamas, to release hostages and end the war in Gaza, in a post on Truth Social.

“I have warned Hamas about the consequences of not accepting,” President Trump wrote.

In Gaza City, Israel continued bombing — including several high-rise buildings. The Israeli Government accused Hamas of using those buildings for surveillance. The government distributed fliers, warning people in the city of 1 million to leave and move to a humanitarian zone.

“We are removing another existential threat to Israel,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “If I have to choose between victory over our enemies and bad propaganda, I choose victory over our enemies.”

Last month, experts declared Gaza City officially suffering from famine. A U.S.-backed group, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, said it has distributed millions of meals.

“We are an independent, neutral humanitarian aid organization with one mission and one mission alone,” said GHF spokesperson Chapin Fay. “To feed the people of Gaza in a way that Hamas or anyone else cannot steal it or otherwise divert it.”

He said GHF wants to open more aid sites.

“The government of Israel and the IDF, they are conducting an active war. And you need their approval to open and build more sites,” Fay said. “We push them every single day for that.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu also visited a bus stop in Jerusalem on Monday. Two Palestinian attackers shot and killed 6 people and wounded 12 others, according to Israeli police.

President Trump said Israel has agreed to his terms for a ceasefire. He urged Hamas to do the same.
