Shortly after midnight on September 8, 2025, Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Deputy Ty Hayes conducted a traffic stop on a dark-colored sedan in the 8100 block of Kingwood Drive, just outside Blanchard. The stop was initiated due to a traffic violation.
Upon approaching the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jocquan Furlow, Deputy Hayes detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After advising Furlow of his Miranda rights, the suspect admitted to the location of marijuana inside the car.
A search of the vehicle revealed nearly half a pound (221.4 grams) of suspected marijuana, along with digital scales. Deputies also seized $2,076 in cash.
Furlow was arrested and transported to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked on a charge of distribution of Schedule I marijuana.
