LAYTON, Utah (ABC4) — The family of the two-year-old girl who was hit and killed in Layton is grieving the loss.

According to a GoFundMe, the family has confirmed the identity of the toddler as 2-year-old Ada Josephine. The toddler tragically

passed away after being struck by a truck on Sept. 5 at the Shiny Shell car wash at 1495 East Church Street.

The two-year-old child was near the front passenger side of the truck when the driver was pulling out and was struck.

Despite medical efforts, Ada passed away at Primary Children’s Hospital.

Ada is survived by her mother, Angela Hansen, and her three siblings. According to the GoFundMe, the father had also tragically passed away at a family 4th of July pool party. Her Mother, Angela, was six months pregnant with Ada.

Ada was given her first name because it was a favorite name of her father’s, and “Josephine,” as it is the feminine form of his middle name, Joseph.

According to Georgia Allred, who is the organizer of the GoFundMe and a family friend of the Hansen family, Hansen is a army reservist, a nurse and a single mother of four, who has given her life to serving others.

Hasen hopes to lay Ada next to her father, who she never got to meet. The family is asking for donations to make that hope possible.
